IMPORTANTS INSTITUTIONS

1.                  Kerla Kalamandalam – The Kerala Kalamandalam founded by Vallathol is the premier institution for tesching and performing the classical arts of Kerala . Kutiyattam was introduced in its curriculam in 1965 . Painkulam Ramachakyar who was  responsible for bringing this temple – theatre to the outside world was the first teacher of Kutiyattam herre . For the first time non-chakyar students were also initiated into his art. The credit for introducing a systematic study  of Kutiyattam on a scientific  basis goes to Kalamandalam

2.              Ammanur Chachu Chakyar Smaraka Gurukulam , Irinjalakkuda, Trichur- 680 121 The center started in 1982 in memory of  the greast artist has as its object the training in Kutiyattam strictly in the traditional Gurukula style also popularizes ancient Sanskrit Dramas in the Kutiyattam style. Guru Padmasree Ammanur Madhava Chaykar is the guiding spirit of the institute .

3.                   Margi , Thiruvananthapuram , Valiyasala , Thiruvananthapura 695 004

Late D.Appukuttan Nair spent most of his time to rejuvenate the art of Kutiyattam . He established Margi , as a School for Classical arts. The Sangeeth Notak Academy supported Margi as a Centre providing regular performance opportunities to trained artists . Margi is perhaps the only troupe which can present Saktihadras Ascaryacudamani , the most capabilities.

  4.                   Mani Madhava Chakyar Gurukulam , Killikurissimangam,Lakkidi, Palakkat

This institute is established in commemoration of the great artist Late  Sri . Mani Madhava Chakyar . This is not only institution imparting instruction in Mizhavu . Panivadattilaka P.K NBmbiar is te Chief of the faculty – The institute is recignised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi , New Delhi .

5.                   International Centre for Kutiyatam , Tripunithura-682 301

Established in 1995 Started In 1977 In The Sree  Sankaracharya  University of Sanskrit is indendedto give training to artists as also to encourage research on ancient theatrical forms to the new audience.
